Good evening CHS football family!

Hope you are having a great weekend as we enter our last week of football. As it stands now, according to CHSAA rules only the league champion will advance to the playoffs despite 4 teams being ranked in the top 24 according to the CHSAA ranking system. Grand Junction and Sand Creek are both undefeated in league play and they will face each other this Friday to determine who wins the league. If this stands then this will be our last week of Varsity and C-team football with a varsity game at Thornton this Thursday night at 7pm and a C-Team game at Centaurus on Saturday morning at 9am.

Our varsity team played with great effort and resilience with quite a few injuries before and during the game but came up short in our loss to a very good undefeated Sand Creek team that is ranked #8 in the state. Their running back is leading the state in rushing and as you saw is a very good player that was difficult to stop. I told the team after the game that we are proud of their effort and attitude despite the loss and we will seek to improve this week and get better as a team.

Our C-Team is having a great season and had a great game yesterday scoring a go ahead TD on the road with 18 seconds left in the game to get the victory over Sand Creek. They have played great this year and we know that the future is bright with these players. They have a lot to improve on, but they have come together this season and many thanks to our players and coaches for their efforts.
